Live-Tweeting the DNC: Reactions Leading Up to Obama's Entrance

Perhaps even more so than blogging, Twitter has become a popular tool for getting messages to the public quickly. Users from around the globe have been tweeting about the elections for months now, and tonight, the global Twittersphere waits with bated breath for presidential hopeful Barack Obama to accept the Democratic nomination and share his vision for the United States. Here's a bit of what the Twittersphere is saying in the run-up to Barack Obama's speech.

The first hot topic of the evening was former Vice President and Nobel prize winner Al Gore‘s speech. Much of the conversation surrounded the odd choice of “Let the Sunshine In” as Gore's entrance and exit music. From Trinidad, georgiap quipped:

Brazilian danielduende was also amused by the choice:

  • But I would like to assure you all that i’m OK. :)
And I agree with Lou Gold about the good music choice, once you think of the connection between “let the sunshine in” and the pollution, ozone layer (and lack of hope) issues at hand.

And ain’t GeorgiaP a global citizen?

    Best,
    D.D.
