Note to French bashers: if you’re gonna make fun of us, this is the way to do it!
Except for the use of the (capitalized!) “frog” slur, which has no place in a magazine like Time (would they use the word Beaners to refer to Mexicans? Yeah, right!), it makes fun of some of our problems and foibles (banlieues, strikes, demanding farmers, welfare state, taxes, short workweeks, …) without being insulting to our character. And, a rare treat, it doesn’t present the U.S. and Americans as inherently superior.
