Muntadar Al Zeidi should be left alone. The shoes didn't touch anybody, so what is the charge? I'm surprised that Bush has managed to sneak into Iraq, and survive anyhow. They just about got Cheney. Some of us were disappointed that Cheney made it out.

To me it is just another embarrassing moment to add to the Bush Administrations blunders and gaffe's. If you could send us the shoes, we can place them in the Smithsonian or Bush's library (can you imagine his library?) But if they could bring something on E-Bay, I say sell them.

And to Bob: That is a keeper.

It was interesting to see Bush's reflexive reaction. He immediately takes an almost amused/aggressive posture, like a Bruce Willis character. Makes you wonder how other leaders/potential leaders would have reacted...
Hillary would have caught it in her teeth, bitten a chunk out of it and then returned it to the man covered in slobber.
Bill Clinton would have probably caught it in the face and then consoled the widow after the man "disappeared".
Gore would have cowered and cried like a baby.
Putin would have caught it ninja style and used it to kill the man.
Palin would have shot him purely on reflex.
Sarkozy would still be running.
Obama would have caught it, and then spiked it followed by an endzone dance. (I know, grossly stereotypical, but it's a JOKE)
Kerry would have ducked, picked up the shoe, hit himself with it, and then put himself in for another Purple Heart.
Cheney would have shot the Iraqi president by accident.
Gordon Brown would have consulted the Americans to see what they were going to do.
Pelosi would have figured some way to tax it.
I could go on all day but the real standard is Reagan, who would have brushed it aside with his mental powers while Nancy vaporized the man with an evil glare.

What a thousand bombs could not accomplish, two shoes did. Note his profession as a journalist,,his shoes doing more harm than his pen. Asymmetric warfare, indeed.
I worry for the shoe-thrower. There is every chance he will end up exactly where most other vocal political dissidents end up in the muslim world.i think that perfectly summarises how bush will be rememberd the target of an angry shoe throwing arab-This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog,"Myers reported that the man threw the second shoe and added: "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq.Well done to him brave man.
"Meanwhile, offers to buy the shoes are being made around the Arab world, reports say.BBC news
The daughter of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Aicha, said her charity would honour the reporter with a medal of courage, saying his action was a "victory for human rights".ad the end am commending bush for his dodging skills :) that was truly amazing. the throw was from such a close distance and with a lot of force...
it was like the matrix well done georgie at least you learned something in your 8 years!!!!

Throwing shoes at Bush, while he deserves it, is not enough. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolf should be tried for crimes against humanity for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq. News reports in the US mention the number of U.S. soldiers who have died or got injured in Iraq. But we don't hear exactly how many innocent Iraqi people have died because of these war criminals.
