Iran: Clinton's threat and a controversial photo

Several bloggers reacted to Senator Hillary Clinton's remarks on Monday when Clinton said that she would be willing to use nuclear weapons against Iran if it were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.

Writing in Farsi, Malkoot says:

“Clinton should control her temper…Clinton did not think that her deterring threat did not help to solve problem but just makes things complicated. What a logic it is that Israel because it is our ally, then we have every right to obliterate any country that attacks it…. Clinton’s words mean that we have power to do this and it legitimates our action….if there were some Iranians to prefer you to Obama, now you have lost them all. What a logic it is, that they have a problem with the Iranian rulers and they say what they want…these words are so far removed from logic.”

Mehiran addss [Fa]:

I want to ask Hillary Clinton this question was USA able to obliterate Afghanistan, Vietnam, Iraq …. And all these countries did not have half of Iran’s military power and its population.

Meanwhile, Anti Mullah has published a photo featuring a Muslim woman standing outside a mosque in California, holding a banner with slogans in support of Obama. He says:

Note the “bilingual” aspect uses English lettering for Persian (not Arabic) words to reach a broader audience than writing it in Farsi (Persian) fonts.

The banner says: God is great. Obama is the leader.

Kamangir, however, thinks the photo is fake and shares his ideas about it here:

“Let’s also accept that “[there are] rumors of the Islamic Republic of Iran also passing the word to their American agents and clerics to support Obama”. Let’s go further and accept too that this plan is actually materialized and that a Muslim is going to hold a banner in support of Obama and to encourage fellow Muslims to vote for him. In what language will he/she write on the banner, besides English? My guess would be Arabic. That’s why I doubt this
picture is, as Anti Mullah suggests, “definitive evidence” for the claims mentioned in the above. Why? Because the word “Rahbar” is Persian for “Leader”. Shouldn’t they have used an Arabic word, written with English letters of course, instead?”

  • In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!
Why hasn’t This recieved any coverage by the News Media? (Peater F Paul vs Clintons ) Has she really been fully veted?

WHERE IS THE QUOTE MADE BY OBAMA THAT HE WAS GOING TO NUKE PAKISTAN?

  • Core Democrat,

Obama said that “must be willing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan” – http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0132206420070801

No mention of nukes. And he was talking about specific Al Qaeda forces – “”If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will”

So comparing the two isn’t really apples to apples.

Thank you for bringing attention about the FRAUD incident in CA. How nice that they will defer it until after the election. Surely the Democratic party can not afford to put HRC in the nomintional position. By the time November gets here you know that JMc will get more use out of this than anything he could find on Senator Obama. It is time for the Clinton’s to walk away with their tails between their legs. They are 2 of the nastiest people I’ve ever seen in my life; and it seems as though Chelsea has inherited their ignorance. Remember, as a citizen of the USA, you do not owe her anything. Just remember all the lies in her campaign, the number of times her campaign has been turned upside down, the lies, the lies and the even more lies. I dont’ know how (she) they look in a mirror.

As a society we must learn to speak out against such disgusting verbiage. I wonder how anyone, let alone someone running for office, could make such an offensive and idiotic statement. What’s more, how could anyone think that she should represent America. I’m sure the Iranian-Americans felt violated and exposed to yet one more Iran-bashing.

She doesn’t represent me and just recently I bashed a representative from Iowa about making the same kind of insensitive and uncalled for remarks. Do we allow it? No. Responsibility comes with our citizenship and we can speak out about what we know is not right.

Make no mistake, some of what comes out of the Iranian President’s mouth is far worse, but coming out of an American senator’s is, somehow, worse.

Check out what I had to say about another silly incident from a politician. Click here
